I paused on the Broad Street Overpass where it crosses Interstate 10, over the old New Basin Canal, where all the glass eye foundries used to be before the Times-Picayune relocated its headquarters from Newspaper Row, where they are now building a virtual golf course. A living city never lays still. A living city undulates like the breast of a river.
