Anticipating Epiphany.
It is the second day of Christmas. God’s gift to the world is still unrecognized by all but his mother, his foster father, and a few shepherds. It remains a secret until the twelfth day of Christmas, Epiphany, the event that triggered the massacre of the Holy Innocents.
It does no good to dwell on these matters but some people find it rewarding to keep them in the back of mind. Being Catholic is fun.
Not only is January 6th the Twelfth Day of Christmas, it is also Joan of Arc’s birthday. It is also THE FIRST DAY OF CARNIVAL.
Regular readers from years past know that I tend to be indifferently appreciative of Carnival. This year is different. My King-sense is tingling.
The present is the future’s prologue.
Full reports to follow this year. I need to get into the thick of the action.
