Bagels in Birmingham.

I know I am writing a lot recently. I cannot locate a Wall Street Journal and I have finally given up looking for one. I did find a Saturday New York Times, the poor man’s Journal, but they didn’t have a Monday Times today. I am reading a book, Gaia, by James Lovelock. I do not remember it having so much science in it, not that I mind. It engages my attention.

I have been having breakfast at the Original Pancake House. When I was younger, a hash joint like this would have been right up my alley. I do not eat a lot of this kind of food anymore. Now that I have given up hope of finding a Wall Street Journal my new quest is to find a decent bagel.

As I write this, I am the Red Cat, a coffee shop in Pepper Place. No bagels here.
