When was the last time you had fondue?
We have had an uptick in paid subscribers here at Whalehead Industries, Inc. It must be the questions that I ask, like the one above.
There used to be a fondue restaurant on St. Charles Avenue. It figures. It was in that stretch between Lee Circle, sorry, Egalite’ circle, and Jackson Avenue. That stretch is nice enough but it more commercial than most of St. Charles Avenue.
When I used to live on Terpsichore Street, I used to go to Lucky’s, another 24-hour bar that was within walking distance. I live in New Orleans. I went at 3:00AM.
You can get a haircut at Lucky’s at 3:00AM on Thursdays. There is a barber who comes between 1:00AM and 5:00AM. He plugs in his clippers and cuts hair. He also uses scissors, which do not require electricity to operate so much as tonsorial talent in the snipping department.
Are you following any of this?
A notary shows up on Thursdays at Lucky’s, too. You can notarize documents. He only charges $20.00. In Louisiana, a notary public can do everything a lawyer can do but offer legal advice. The notary who holds office hours at Lucky’s on Thursday nights charges $200.00 to write up a will. The price is totally worth it.
I have given enough New Orleans culture to the free subscribers. It is time to go behind the paywall. It really is worth 700 pennies a month to become a paid subscriber.
