Chapter 562.
I was talking to a lady who has previously suffered a stroke. I did not ask when. That would be impolite. It would impolite to notice. Should it be required, I would not be shy about it, but there was no reason. It is none of my concern if half her face is slack and I can barely understand a slurred word she says. We are all God’s children.
The stroke lady is doing God’s work. She tried to put the touch on me to make a donation to a Catholic school in New Iberia. It is a typical New Orleans story.
The stroke lady is fifteen years older than I am. Her whole life before she joined the U.S. Air Force, she attended schools run by the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrement, an order of nuns founded by St. Katherine Drexel.
I will not bore you with the story of her life but she works hard to raise funds for this school founded by St. Katherine Drexel in New Iberia. It was the first school she founded in Louisiana. The most noteworthy school she founded in Louisiana is Xavier University.
The lady tried to tell me where the school is located but I have never been to New Iberia. In that instance, I had really had no idea what she was talking about. Everything else, I either totally understood or got the gist of.
After that, somebody else showed up.
Now, we draw the curtain. You really should jump on board and become a paid subscriber. I would like to talk with you behind the curtain.
