Every Day in New Orleans.
Every day in New Orleans is a game of exquisite corpse. I have been talking to Sweet Boy. He says he has a crush on Sophia Loren. The air if full of pheromones. Nobody should light a match.
The fountain in the Place St. Charles lobby is lit green today. Is it because of St. Patrick’s Day? It just might be. It is not for St. Charles’ Day. Then, it would be orange.
St. Charles Borromeo’s feast day is not generally celebrated with parades in New Orleans. That happens in the villages and at the crossroad junctions in St. Charles Parish, upriver. St. Charles Day is November 4th. Mark your calendar. It might be worth a road trip.
The Irish Channel’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is tomorrow. The Feast of St. Patrick is next week. I do not know what day St. Patrick’s Day is. Maybe it is Saturday? I only know when St. Joseph’s Day is. St. Joseph’s Day is March 19th.
Sweet Boy just told me that St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. I usually never believe anything Sweet Boy says but the lady sitting next to him confirmed it.
The St. Patrick’s Day parade will not be on St. Patrick’s Day. I do not pretend to understand why people in New Orleans do what they do.
Every day in New Orleans is like an episode in that Titanic movie from a few years back. I will let you decide for yourself which scene. I will let you decide for yourself which movie. Every day in New Orleans is what you make of it.
Saint Patrick’s Day is officially on March 17th, but, in New Orleans, at least, the big paddy-palooza St. Patrick’s Day parade will be tomorrow. Cabbages will be tossed to adoring crowds. Green beer will be served all day all along the parade route. The Lower Garden District will be full of tipsy would-be Irishmen.
Green beer is served two days a year in New Orleans. Every day in New Orleans is full of surprises.
Every day in New Orleans is a very good day. It is nice to be home.
Sweet Boy lives in the neighborhood real estate agents call Faubourg Parkview South. It is a beautiful part of New Orleans. Winn Dixie is there.
Every day in New Orleans is a Werner Herzog movie.
I now have something important to tell you behind the curtain.
