In New Orleans, we prepare ourselves. We know it's a must, that we gotta have a friend in Jesus. We know that when we die, He's gonna recommend every New Orleanian to the spirit in the sky, the spirit in the sky.

You don't make New Orleans.  New Orleans makes you.  After a year and a day of living in New Orleans, it is too late.  After a year in a day, your life starts to evolve in a different direction.  This is what happens in the City Care Forgot.

City air sets one free.  You are allowed to inhabit a crypt for a year and a day if you die in New Orleans.  After that, if somebody needs the shelf space, your remains get pushed to the back.  You are already enjoying a penthouse apartment in the sky at that point.
