Gentleman's Deuce
I have plans to go to Carrollton tonight. This is entirely out of character. While I don’t mind visiting Carrolton, I usually do things during the day. I have time to do things during the day. The difference between day and night is that each has its own obligations.
Carrollton is the farthest I can go upriver while still being in New Orleans.
Everyone is surprised that I am going to Carrollton. They are likewise surprised why. I have a generalized disinterest in music.
So, I am going someplace I wouldn’t normally go, at a time I would not usually go there, for a reason that is completely out of character. This should be fun.
In my part of New Orleans, we call situations like this a “gentleman’s deuce.” I don’t know what they call it Uptown. I guess I will find out.
Let me tell you what happened yesterday, when, likewise, like tonight, I went all hither and yon to parts of New Orleans I rarely visit. I live in a kaleidoscope of a city.
Wait a second. I have to put the paywall here.
