A house collapsed on Bienville Street the other day. It was not reported in the Times’-Picayune. I saw it when I was in the neighborhood on business this morning.
I do not know what the corner is, but, the house that collapsed is on the uptown, lakeside corner of whatever street crosses Bienville Street one block riverside of North Jefferson Davis Parkway, diagonally across the street from Piece of Meat, the trendy butcher shop restaurant.
If I say Bienville Street, you know it is North Jeff Davis Parkway. Bienville is downtown of Canal Street, thus, all the cross streets are referred to as North even if they do not run north-south. When was the last time you got lost in New Orleans?
Jefferson Davis Parkway is now Norman C. Francis Parkway. Someday, the city may come up with a clunkier name for that street. Time will tell.
I do not know why the house on Bienville Street collapsed. I assume it happened because things happen. Things happen all the time.
A bird was sleeping on the sidewalk.
I had things to do. I will tell you about them in a moment. It may not be much but it is all I have got for today.
