I hate The Piña Colada Song. If you do not know what I am talking about, you are not missing much. Live long enough and you become used to insignificant irritations over time. A fish doesn’t realize that living under water is unusual to the rest of the world. Such is life.

The Piña Colada’s Song is officially called “Escape.” It is a pox on the soundscape of any day.

When you live in New Orleans, every day is an escape from reality.

Today is only Tuesday and I have been to so many restaurants this week, already, thus far. I have talked about even more since Sunday. Talking about restaurants is what New Orleanians do in a New Orleans state of mind. It is the food, the music, and the spirit of Mardi Gras that binds this city together, every one of us.
