Little Metairie (Part II).
Hail Endymion!
The area behind Rouse’s used to be abandoned industrial buildings, a skeleton of a neighborhood. It is now chic apartments. The people who live in those apartments, the Lumina, and in the new condominiums, 37 Hundred Bienville, they shop at Rouse's.
Even people who take the greenway, which supermarket they use depends on which direction they come from.
There are some things that you can only get at Rouse's. Turtle meat is one of them. The list could go on but Rouse's is only incidental to this story.
Across the Lafitte Greenway from Rouse's, there used to be a Home Depot. Now there is a Marshall’s and a Petco. You can get there by a path between Super Cuts and Wing Stop. There is also a CVS and a T-Mobile store. Little Metairie has it all.
The easiest way to get from one side of Little Metairie to the other is to take the Lafitte Greenway. It used to be railroad tracks until after Katrina. This is the easiest way to go because the greenway people installed a HAWK at the intersection.
