New Orleans and New York City.
Howzabout a long introduction? I have hours to kill. I will eventually talk about why New Orleans reminds me of New York City but first I want to tell you what got me to thinking of it. Unusually, I was on NewOrleans.com, which I never have a reason to visit.
Earlier yesterday, I was talking to Pillow who turned me onto this shop on South Solomon Street called Nola Craft Culture. It is in a house. I know where it is but I have never been inside. Pillow told me that this is where she goes to buy glitter.
We were talking about glitter. You do not need to know why. It is all Python Lady’s idea. If Python Lady is anything, she is capricious.
Pillow called the shop Nola Culture, so that is what I looked up to find out what time they open this morning. That is how I ended up reading the description of New Orleans culture put out by the convention and visitors’ bureau.
I soon found what I wanted and the shop opens at 10:00AM this morning. I will be there to pick up some glitter. Blame Python Lady. She is the one who puts ideas in my head.
New Orleans reminds me of New York City.
I have not been back in New Orleans for even one week and my trip out to the real world seems like a dream. You cannot keep the kids on the farm after they have been to gay Pair-ee.
It is not the scale nor the scope of New Orleans that makes me think of New York City. They are very similar. I will tell you about it. I think I am done thinking about the glitter store until they open.
