The Rhinestone Dandy heaves a world weary sigh, “What now?” It is always something. He glances across the bar at the painting of a skull in the dark with two apples. It is paint-by-number picture, just like to today. It does not even have a frame, just like today.
Mrs. King is out of town today so I have been exploring nooks and crannies of New Orleans where I rarely visit. I am still talking about exploring the French Quarter, which I am doing for a project I am involved with.
Other places I rarely visit are the Bywater and, less so, but not much less so, the Marigny. I asked Sweetboy the other day if he knew of a bar on Port Street. He said, “No, Mr. King. I don’t like to hang out at those hipster places.” That makes two of us. I have had enough pretentious service to last me the rest of my life.
I made a new acquaintance today. We shall see how that pans out. Every day is full of interesting people.
In other news, Little Caesar’s, the cut-rate pizza chain, has a new product. That is the word on the street. There is not a Little Caesar’s outlet in New Orleans proper. I am sure there is one in Metairie, and I know for sure there is one on the West Bank. I am not crossing the bridge to get a Little Caesar’s pizza, even this new menu item.
Just the thought of it churns my gut.
The news of this new product is spreading like cholera on Lower Decatur Street. Everyone is licking their chops, talking about it. I have yet to meet someone who has tried it. It is the Hot-N-Ready 4-Quarter Calzony. Little Caesar’s is really pushing it on their website. It only costs $8.99. I doubt delivery will be free from the West Bank.
If you have had one of these delicacies, please let me know in the comments. I would like to know if the Hot-N-Ready 4-Quarter Calzony is worth $8.99.
Now, I am going to tie this all together with a big bow behind the paywall.
