Nobody has seen Nick Lobo since before last Mardi Gras. The last I heard he was playing his accordion on the Wisconsin Dells polka circuit.

I was at Liuzza’s-by-the-Track yesterday, talking to Gootee. Delancey interrupted Gootee. It is sometimes hard to get a word in edgewise when Gootee is talking. I like Gootee. It was good to see him. It always is. It is always good to see that his ticker is still ticking.

Delancey said, “Get a load of this, Mr. King. You’re gonna love what we found the other day.” She reached into the drawer under the bottom shelf liquor, where they keep stray paperclips and rubber bands, the junk drawer.
