I am a flaneur in New Orleans. I drift throughout the city in the afternoon café demimonde that is lunchtime New Orleans. Every day is a tiny adventure full of details, diversions, and stray thoughts come home to roost.

Fill in the blanks. Connect the dots. You should become a subscriber.

To receive ridiculously regular, eccentric updates on unseen sides of New Orleans, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. Trust me, paid is better.

Everyone has their own New Orleans. I would like to talk with you about what is going on in my part of New Orleans over lunch. As the day progresses, I have all afternoon. Happiness loves company.

One day follows another, variations on a theme. If things seem to be moving in slow motion, it is a matter of perspective. I live in New Orleans time. It is like bar time only doubly slow. Life unfolds at its own pace in my part of New Orleans. People come and go. Every day is a parade of a constantly-changing cast of characters.

Remember that TV show? Cheers? It was set in Boston. I used to live in Boston. New Orleans is the opposite of Boston in many ways but one. Both are cities of neighborhoods.

We are all in this together, sink or swim.

This is my New Orleans. Welcome to my world. I look forward to sharing it with you.

I usually share my lunch with you around the corner off the usual tourist grid. I make the rounds within my remit. New Orleans has as many layers as the universe in microcosm. I spend most of my time in Mid-City. I like the views.

Sign up today. Free or paid. You will discover another aspect of this kaleidoscope of a city that people of good will call home. There is no other place like New Orleans.

What happened today? I will tell you. I have. been doing this just about every day since January 2021.

It is nice to see you.

You will thank yourself if you become a free subscriber. If you listen to the angel on your shoulder, you will become a paid subscriber. All the good stuff is behind the paywall.
