What's It All About, Alfie?
It is 2:44PM as I put pen to paper today. It has been a busy day. Mrs. King and I went to the Southern University of New Orleans Museum of Art. Southern University of New Orleans is pronounced SUNO. The University of New Orleans, which is down the street but unaffiliated, is pronounced UNO. I was going to say that they are both pronounced phonetically, which is true, but they are pronounced totally differently, with is separately, but equally, true.
If you know what I am talking about, you know what I am talking about. This is not an example of clever wordplay or quotation. It is an allusion to a deeper truth— I just don’t know what it is. As an autodidact, the world of academia is alien to me.
Anyhow, Mrs. King and I went to this new art museum at SUNO. Then, we went to II Tony’s for lunch. Then, after Mrs. King had left II Tony’s, Vincent showed up like a bad penny having a bad day. Then, he and Julie talked about collard greens. Whoo-boy, this has been a real wing-ding of a day. Let me tell you about it, all the parts that are fit to print.
