I was hanging out outside of St. Roch Cemetery No. 1. I like No. 2 but No. 1 is my preferred hangout. I prefer the statuary in No. 1, even if the gates are locked at 4:00AM. In New Orleans, when we are talking what number cemetery we are talking about, we abbreviate it, ‘No.,’ as in St. Louis No. 1, St. Louis No. 2, St. Louis No. 3 (which is at the end of my street). There is St. Joseph No. 1 and No. 2. Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 and No. 2, too. There are so many cemeteries, they ran out of names.
